Q) Can I have prescription lenses fitted in my sunglasses?
A) We will happily fit your chosen frames with prescription lenses. There are, however, some frames which cannot have prescription lenses fitted because of their shape and curve. Your local store will be able to advise you on which frames are available with prescription lenses.
Q) What is the best frame to suit my face? There are so many to choose from.
A) There is no substitute for trying on a variety of frames as this is the most effective way to find sunglasses to suit you, so don't be shy about going into one of our stores and asking for advice. All of our staff are knowledgeable and happy to help, and will encourage you to spend as much time as you like browsing to find your perfect frame. As a general guide, there are various factors to consider when choosing your frames:
Face Shape – the shape of your face can really affect which frame shape suits your face. Round - If your face is rounded try to avoid circular styles or very small frames. Straight lines really suit round faces.
Oval - This is the most versatile face shape as it suits the greatest range of styles.
Long - It is best to avoid very slim frames as these can make your face look narrow. Instead look at larger frames in circular or Jackie O shapes that will add width to your face.
Square - Look for a style that softens up your face shape- frames with curved edges and wraparound styles will work well. Try tortoiseshell instead of black as this will make your face look less angular.
Heart/ Triangular - oversized round or square styles will look great and draw emphasis to the middle of your face.
Colour Think carefuly about your skin tone and what colours work best with it. Unlike when you are choosing clothes, black is not always the most flattering option. If you have pale skin then tortoiseshell shades will add warmth to your face whereas black can make you look drained. If you have a great tan that you want to show off, the same rules apply to sunglasses as with clothing- white and baby blue will enhance your colour. If you have a darker skin tone you can try experimenting with bright colours, whereas paler skin can look washed out in brights Usage If you are looking for a great pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes and keep you looking cool in the summer all of our sunglasses are 100% UVA/ UVB protective so you can rest assured.
However, if you are looking for frames to wear for a specific sport or activity it is worth looking at our sports performance range which is tailored to your specific needs.
Q) Is it really important to wear sunglasses?
A) Ultraviolet light can damage your eye’s retina and cornea and increases the risk of developing macular degeneration and cataracts so it is extremely important to wear sunglasses. We recommend that you wear sunglasses that are 100% UV absorbent for maximum protection.
