Styling Glasses from Day to Night

Styling Glasses from Day to Night

Some of our most frequently asked questions in-store are what glasses suit my style and how to style glasses with make up. So we asked @ChloeHelenMiles to show us the ropes on how glasses can take your look from day to night.

Finding glasses to suit your face shape and your personal style is no easy feat. I’ve chosen two frames from my local David Clulow Opticians to show you how I style different glasses for day and night.
For my day outfit I chose these beautiful Ralph Lauren round gold frames. I’m instantly drawn to round glasses as I have a square face shape and I’m not afraid to admit it! I find round frames very flattering with a daytime makeup look because they help to balance and soften my face.
For my makeup I kept a very neutral pallet with a subtle warm eye shadow and a nude lip. Orange toned eye shadow compliments gold frames beautifully. With daytime makeup looks I prefer to use more blusher than bronzer to keep me looking refreshed and use a cream highlighter instead of powder to give a more natural glow.
A plain black tailored jumpsuit is a failsafe for daytime, super versatile and easily to transform from casual wear to workwear by layering a shirt underneath and substituting the trainers for pumps or brogues.
For my evening look I chose a pair of gold Ray-Ban aviators. Ray-Ban truly have my heart when it comes to their round sunnies so I was keen to try a new style from them. They didn’t disappoint. The frames come up quite large on me (I do have a small head) but I love them. I think oversized glasses make a great statement for a night look and the thin metal frame keeps them from being overbearing.
I made a quick day to night makeup transition by sculpting my cheeks and jawline with bronzer, adding a dash of powder highlighter, and (my favourite quick night-out makeup hack) a swipe of red lipstick.
For my outfit I went from one black jumpsuit to another, I just can’t get enough! Figure hugging, silk and v cut, it couldn’t get more perfect for an evening. Not to mention- covered in stars!!
I hope you enjoyed my day & night looks, and found some inspiration for styling your specs!
